blur scale

Purpose
To set the time interval over which motion is blurred.

Usage
After picking the entry field, it will be possible to type a new value. The scale is the time interval used for motion blur or temporal anti-aliasing. The time interval is expressed in frames. A value of 0.0 means motion blur is off. A value of 1.0 means time anti-aliasing is performed from one frame to the next, and is usually a good default value. In combination with field rendering, a value of 0.5 (half a frame) is a good default value. Due to the time a shutter takes to open and close, the motion blur scale factor of film is 0.6. It is also possible to exaggerate motion blur to obtain special effects, for example with a value of 2.0.

Comments
It is not possible to set motion blur on or off for individual objects. To get a realistic image, render quality should be set to the upper box of the selected anti-aliasing column. Motion blur affects transformations of solids, cameras (zoom and pan), light sources, polygons, Iso-surfaces, and Particle systems. Shape animation of Iso-surfaces is properly handled with motion blur, but it does not work for the animation of individual control points of freeforms, nurbs, or particles. It does not affect animation of maps.
