Purpose
To change the number of facets used to display the wire frame on the screen.
Usage
Click the facets databox to activate it. In the status area the following
prompts will appear:
facets of solids ? (10)
In response to this prompt, enter any number between 3 and 64. The default setting for the solid facets is 10.
facets of freeforms ? (4)
In response to this prompt, enter any number between 3 and 64. The default setting for the freeform facets is 4.
Comments
The higher the number of facets, the more accurate the representation
is on
the screen, but also more time is required by the computer to redraw
the
wire frame.
It is good practice to increase the number of facets when previewing
and
decrease the number of facets for modeling or animation.
The value
for
facets will not influence the precision of the model when being rendered.
However it will determine the precision of the model when being
exported
to polygons using evaluate and export active (edit menu).
