Usage
Click the torus button to activate it. The following prompt will
appear in
the status area:
radius?
![]()
In response to this prompt enter the radius of the ring of the torus.
The
radius from the center of the torus to the center of the ring will
be one
unit. The torus will appear with its center at the absolute origin.
If the answer to the radius? prompt is '0' or just <enter>,
another
prompt will appear in the status area:
inner radius?
![]()
In response to this prompt, enter the distance from the center of
the torus
to the inner edge of the ring. Then, the following prompt will appear
in
the status area:
outer radius?
![]()
In response to this prompt, enter the distance from the center of the torus to the outer edge of the ring.
Comments
The useful range for the radius of the ring of the torus is from
one to
zero. The way in which the torus is added to the environment depends
on
which of the following toggle buttons is active: new/fix solid, group,
union, subtract, intersect, or overlay. See ball for example.
The local axes' origin of the torus will be at the center of the
torus. A
torus has one side attribute.
The torus radius input box will be displayed and can be used to change
the
radius of the active torus.
Remember, if you introduce a new solid you should give it a tag name
in the
tag input box in the status area.
