solid construct menu

new/fix solid

Purpose
When this toggle button is active, the next solid to be added to the environment will replace the currently existing tree including all solids.

Usage
Click the new/fix solid toggle button to activate it. A solid (e.g. ball) can now be selected to replace the current tree.

Comments
If there are more than two solids in the current tree you will be prompted by the following warning in the status area when you attempt to add a new solid:
are you sure? (y/n)

In response to this prompt, type y (yes) if you want to replace the current tree completely, or n (no) if you do not want to do this. Press <enter> to confirm.
As a side effect, this function will switch off the edit mode if it is active and return you to the top of the tree, 'fixing' everything in place. If you accidentally throw away the tree you are working on, because new/fix solid is active instead of another toggle button, you can restore the lost tree by clicking undo in the solid construct menu.
This function can be used in combination with the following buttons: ball, cone, cylinder, cube, torus, text, ff extrusion, ff rotation, ff patch, get solid, import nurbs, S ball, S cone, S cylinder, S cube, S torus, particles, particlefield and spline-skin.
